Each year we like to do a yearly wrap up and share with you the highlights of our year
This past year has been a whirlwind of exciting activity and growth for OTUS Group. Early in the year we published our first edition of what will be our annual OAX Report. This was followed by the inaugural OAX Forum in March, where association executives and industry experts came together to exchange ideas on tackling key association challenges. Beyond the many professional engagements we completed, highlights for me were the charitable causes that we were so privileged to support. This included our sponsorship of the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital Goodwill Tour, where we saw first-hand the amazing work that a dedicated team of volunteers is doing to restore eyesight in a global effort to end avoidable blindness. We are also thrilled to support the work of the Ottawa Mission, and in particular the Food Services Training Program in which lives are being literally transformed. Graduates of this program become cooks in restaurants and commercial kitchens, or continue their culinary education at Algonquin College.
It is my wish that you have a very Merry Christmas, and a joyful and peace-filled New Year!
Over the past weekend, I was watching Home Alone with my daughter Madeline. She asked me what Christmas show I usually watched every year in my earlier days. Charlie Brown’s Christmas came to mind, and there is quite a story behind the show which you can read in the Washington Post.
I like this quote from Charles Schultz, creator of Peanuts – “Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone”.
It is because of you – our clients, our team members and friends of OTUS Group that we can do something a little extra for someone from time to time – thank you.
This Christmas season we chose to cover the cost for a student to complete the Food Service Training Program (FSTP) at the Ottawa Mission. I encourage you to learn more about the FSTP. It has helped to positively change the lives of many people who have completed the program.
Happy Christmas and Best Wishes for 2020!
